Isn't everyone's Christmas tree still up?

If Cullen can do a Christmas blog in January, then I guess I can too.

Christmas Eve day we drove to Virginia for coffee and TWO kinds of sweet rolls made by Erin. Her sticky buns rival any that I have ever had. Even the Chat-a-While in Bath NY can't match them.

It wouldn't be Christmas on Devereaux Terrace without some molasses cookies—perfect excuse for red food dye. If you look closely you can see that Bridget used some of my less traditional cooky cutters. There's a fish of some sort mixed in with the stars.

We had some marathon Scrabble games. I know there are relatives who are really good at this game, but the four of us are not exactly up to speed on its finer points. And "speed" is not a concept of at least one of us, who dared to pass after spending 10 or 20 minutes considering his options. He had options. He just didn't like them. Was he also the only one to challenge a perfectly good word?

One of the more interesting gifts this year—two sleeves.

For the serious runner, they keep the arms warm, and then can be rolled down. They are elastic, so they collapse and don't fall off even when rolled down. Who comes up with ideas like this??

Time to check out the Obama train ride. Isn't C-SPAN wonderful?
