Come back!

Life on Devereaux Terrace is way too quiet tonight. Eli doesn't know where to sleep now that he doesn't have Amelia's cold feet to keep warm.

Henry, who usually just disappears when anyone new comes in the house, decided he likes these relatives.

Ellen eats yellow beans for a snack and is a dare devil with an inner tube.

Nobody likes mint chocolate chip ice cream, everybody likes Chinese food, Amelia is a master game creater, and both girls were willing to sleep in odd spots. I wish I were as good traveler!

And I'm just amazed at how well-organized, calm, and resourceful these travelers are. All we had to do was enjoy the company.

And congratulations to Cullen, who came in 3rd in his age group in this weekend's triathalon! A great race, and no injury!

How many Cowleys does it take for a great reunion?

At least 70, from as far away as Florida and California. Eileen and Roger's pergola made the perfect spot for family photos, starting with Pat, Tom, Jerry, Marge, Kathleen and Eileen. The Marsh contingent: Our family: The Austs: Kathleen's family:

And that's just the beginning. There were group photos of first cousins, and group photos of second cousins, group photos of the Browns and the Smiths....there were a lot of photos! The weather was perfect: The bubbles were floating: And the corn was tall. Despite high winds that flattened all the tents early Saturday morning, everything was in place by the time cars started pulling in. The food couldn't have been better: beef on weck, three different potato salads (thanks to Eileen and Marge), Eileen's bread and butter pickles, roasted corn, Eileen's cookies (the size of your palm), brownies, apple and blueberry pies.

I've left out a lot, but I can't think of any way this weekend could have been better. When's the next one?
