faster than the speed of light

I don't know why I'm thinking of Mike Dukakis, but here's a photo of Tom at the HHMI picnic on Friday.

One of the attractions was a "zip rope"—a perilous activity that sent participants over a steep incline and high above the valley, faster than any human should cosider traveling. He made it, as did all the other juveniles I watched take off—after their parents had signed extensive waivers.

On the garden front, as of now, the varmints are interested only in the string beans, and, thanks to the watering system, everything else is flourishing.

If you look hard, you might see the tassels on the corn. At this rate, the neighbors will have fresh corn while we're at the reunion.
