Cattaraugus County wood burns clean.

I did my walk late this afternoon in high winds and steady rain, but the new damper on the fireplace is working well. It is now shut down to one stop before closing, which means the wood is burning slowly, with lots of good coals. Makes hibernating a pleasure. That and some banana bread that just came out of the oven, and Tom's roasted chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner. Mashed food of any kind appeals to me right now. The dental work continues, and as of Wednesday, I have a mouthful of metal, flexible wires, and porcelain. No rubber bands.
